4 Favorite Recipes for Valentine’s Day 2023
Ok, Valentine’s Day 2023 is tomorrow! And for all you celebrating tomorrow, I put together some of my favorite recipes that pack extra wow-power to impress that special someone. I personally love celebrating Valentine’s Day – not for the gifts, cards, stuffed animals, or anything but I love that there’s a day that works like a good excuse to do something special with someone you love. And that’s it just baked into a dreary month to help liven things up is a cherry on top.
So, if you’re not feeling a night out this year (totally get it – it’s a Tuesday, after all) here are my 4 favorite recipes for Valentine’s Day 2023 that you can do right at home to make the evening a little more special!
Peruvian Lomo Saltado:
Lomo Saltado is a classic fusion recipe in Peru. I love the inclusion of beef AND – the kicker – FRENCH FRIES, which make this dish fun, new but comforting. This recipe plates beautifully and really feels like a special dinner. What I extra love about this one – it comes together in a flash and you basically need a skillet and the oven to finish up.
Date Night Rigatoni with Red Pepper Sauce:
What’s more romantic than Italian food?? Do your Valentine’s Day in a true Lady and the Tramp style with this pasta dish. While simple, don’t be fooled – the real winner here is the super creamy and wonderfully delish red pepper sauce. Be prepared to spend a little extra time roasting your red peppers first and then it’s an easy street from there!

Lychee and Pork Ramen:
This one felt like a trendy choice but I love it for Valentine’s Day. I should have saved my Lady and the Tramp joke for this one! With perfectly slurpy noodles this ramen bowl actually comes together pretty quickly and easily. It gets its fancy notes from the garnishes – spicy pork sausage and lychee which offers a balance of sweet-spicy and the two combined add a perfect unique touch for a special dinner.
One Skillet Coq Au Vin Blanc:
This recipe is an excellent riff on the classic from the one and only Julia Child. A quintessential French recipe, nothing screams fancy, candle-lit dinner, quite like this one. I love this recipe to death and it pairs wonderfully with white wine (obviously) but can be a little labor-intensive. But! I enjoyed cracking the wine open early and making the making of the meal our date. It’s fun and well worth the wait with a creamy sauce and perfectly crispy chicken.
