Equipment

  • 1 Grill (or Frying Pan)

Ingredients

  • 1 lbs Ground Chicken
  • 1 Egg
  • 3 tbsp Tandoori Paste (I really like Patak's, which I've usually found at most big-box grocery stores)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chili Powder (This is more for flavor. This dish is definitely not spicy. If you're nervous, you can easily omit this one!)
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 cup Italian Bread Crumbs
  • Salt, to taste
  • Lemon juice (to taste)
  • 4 Hamburger Buns

Instructions

For the Burgers:

  • In a large bowl, mix together ground chicken, egg, tandoori paste, breadcrumbs, and seasoning.
  • Once thoroughly mixed, separate the meat into 4 even balls. Take each ball and separately flatten it to form a patty.
  • Heat a pan (or grill) and start cooking the patties (medium-high heat). Cook for about 5 minutes on each side until the patties are cooked through. *Check with a meat thermometer*
  • Remove from heat and garnish with a squeeze of lemon juice.
  • Set the burgers onto toasted buns adding any garnishes. I love including pickled onions and mint chutney on mine.

Notes

  • * If you're using a pan on the stove top, be sure to flip the burgers frequently. They tend to scorch quickly. This method also takes about 10 minutes on medium-high heat.
